Nutrients are substances that supplies the body one or both of the following:

  1. Energy that the body requires to function
  2. Components that become the body's structural or functional parts

Research findings confirm that the condition of the body’s structural and functional parts

  1. depends on the quality of the nutrients that supply components to those parts and
  2. correlates with a person’s health status, which may be either a state of health or disease.
